The immune-boosting benefits of
black tea
Black tea, which is really green tea leaves that have
undergone extensive fermentation, might just have
immune-enhancing properties.
In a preliminary study consumption of 6 cups of
Lipton tea daily was found to produce an abundance of an
immune-promoting substance called interferon. The agent thought to be responsible for this effect is L-theanine,
which has numerous other positive benefits including the
enhancement of chemotherapy with a reduction of side
effects, lowering of blood pressure and the promotion of
relaxation inducing better sleep.
