Solving the dilemma of Auto-immune disease
Professor Bouic and his team have found that the joint fluid of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers contain excess cytokines of the TH2 variety, those cytokines that increase inflammation. They also discovered that B-cells were overactive which was thought to contribute to the inflammatory process and joint destruction. hat this team of researchers were able to demonstrate was that the administration of sterols and sterolins was able to enhance the activity of TH1 cells while inhibiting the activity of the TH2 cells thereby restoring the balance of the immune system and preventing any further inflammation or joint destruction. This method of treatment is a radical departure from the conventional strategy for managing autoimmune disease which has sought to suppress the entire immune system with powerful anti-inflammatory agents all of which have resulted in significant side effects. Fascinatingly a new drug has recently been released which is aimed at moderating the effects of T-cells. Disappointingly this drug like the traditional compounds has a whole range of toxic side effects. This would appear to be the strength of sterols and sterolins. They are side effect free and they restore the natural harmony of the body. As far as autoimmune diseases are concerned this would constitute a major breakthrough. Other autoimmune diseases which may benefit from sterols and sterolins include ankylosing spodylitis, systemic lupus erythematosis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis and crohn's disease. The autoimmune process is also implicated in Type 1 diabetes. The over activity of B-cells and cytokines of the TH2 class are thought to result in the destruction of pancreatic cells which produce insulin. Sterols and sterolins are able to arrest the activity of these inflammatory mediators reducing the need for insulin and limiting the consequences of prolonged inflammation especially with regard to nerve and kidney damage. What about the other benefits of sterols and sterolins?
