QUESTION 1:
Is it safe to take synthroid and triestrogen?
Answer: There
shouldn’t be any problem with this combination
provided you take this with medical supervision and
consider the ways to protect yourself from getting
breast cancer which are listed on this site and in
‘Eternal Health.’
QUESTION 2:
I've been reading a great deal about the use of
natural progesterone and how it can balance 'estrogen
dominance'. I've also read that it can help to
protect against breast cancer. My question is, is
there any reason why natural progesterone should not be
used by a women who has been treated for estrogen and
progesterone receptor positive breast cancer?
Answer: Although there are
studies, which show that progesterone may be protective
against breast cancer in this scenario progesterone
might not be a good idea.
There is also evidence that progesterone improves
blood supply and tumours need all the blood supply they
can get. I
do know an American expert who has utilised natural
progesterone to manage breast cancer sufferers but I
would imagine this is not in the context of the picture
that you present.
QUESTION 3: I have previously asked a question
regarding HGH, and I still intend to get involved in
your program, however, I would like your opinion on
secretagogues, as there is some conflicting information.
Answer: There are lots of secretagogues, which
claim to increase the body’s production of growth
hormone. The
amino acid arginine taken in large doses can. Another
product called trans d-tropin also has the power to
increase growth hormone levels and there is some
evidence, which substantiates this.
It would be nice if there was evidence to back up
the claims of the many products advertised over the
internet but this is probably not always possible.
QUESTION 4: I suffer from
chronic dry facial skin and have been taking two oils:
fish oil and Udo's oil. I read recently on a
natural health website that most fish oil in tablet form
is in fact rancid and has no effect at all.
Can you tell me whether this is true and if so,
what do I need to look for to buy a truly efficacious
fish oil?
Also, should I take fish oil and something like Udo's
oil or just one - and if so, which one?
Answer: Most fish oil capsules incorporate
antioxidants such as vitamin E to prevent rancidity.
You need to give this type of treatment some time
to work. If
you are taking Udo’s oil as well then you are doubling
up and you could use this product on its own.
Adequate hydration and making sure that your body
has adequate supplies of minerals such as magnesium and
zinc is also important.
QUESTION 5: I have been
experiencing a bitter taste (but no
"heartburn") for almost two months.
Several years ago I was diagnosed with "slow
gastric emptying" but I have not had any problems
such as nausea. I have been to the dentist--no
problems. My only symptom is the bitter taste.
What could cause this and what could be a remedy?
Answer: There are a number of possibilities here.
You may be suffering from a food intolerance or your
body might not be producing enough digestive enzymes.
An insufficient level of zinc is another
possibility. Slow
gastric emptying would be consistent with these
possibilities. You can eliminate all these hypotheses by
consulting with a naturopathic physician.
Try starting off your day with a cup of warm
water with lemon and see if this makes a difference.
