QUESTION 1:
I have been diagnosed by my GP with
helibactor pylori. I am a Coeliac, and am allergic to
penicillin and sulphur drugs and after many terrible
episodes have found only one antibiotic that I can
tolerate. It is Norfloxacin.
Do you know of any natural methods or herbal
medicine that I can take to kill this?
Answer: There
are a combination of herbs that you can use including
garlic, thyme, golden seal and citrus seed extract
together with a product known as mastic gum which you
can purchase from the site www.vrp.com.
Sulfurophane found in broccoli also has the
potential to eradicate helicobacter pylori.
Vitamin C and acidophilus can also be useful in
combating this type of infection.
With any natural form of treatment you have to
adopt this type of protocol for at least 10 weeks.
QUESTION 2: My husband’s mum has
rheumatoid arthritis.
She has lots of pain and says she wants to die.
She is aged 72. Can you help?
Answer: A
condition that needs to be explored is called the leaky
gut hypothesis. This
means that there are small holes in the lining of the
bowel, which allow substances to enter the body with the
power to do all sorts of mischief.
This includes provoking the immune system into
attacking joints by mistake, which is what rheumatoid
arthritis is all about.
Although this is a hypothesis and not proven
scientific fact it is well worth eliminating this
possibility as this type of disorder is very amenable to
natural remedies. I’ve
also found that gluten intolerance and candida
overgrowth are worth managing by means of elimination of
the appropriate foods.
QUESTION 3: I once was diagnosed with a
yeast infection. Since that time (5 years ago) I
have had almost a continual, odorous discharge.
This past year, itching and pain occasionally accompany
the discharge. My doctor says that there is a
presence of yeast, but nothing to be worried about.
I've read, however, that yeast infections have no odour.
Do you think that my symptoms match those of a yeast
infection?
Answer: I
would say that your yeast infection is worth treating
and one of the ways you can do this is with a herbal
combination called Kolorex, which includes the herbs
horopito and aniseed.
Kolorex is purchasable via the internet and is
available from healthfood stores.
A yeast free diet with acidophilus/bifidus
supplementation is another component of the anti-candida
or yeast eradication programme.
I would also encourage you to ensure that you
have no other harmful bugs contributing to the
malodorous discharge that you have and this can be
achieved by means of an internal exploration with swabs
sent for microbial culture.
