QUESTION 1:
I have
recently lost a lot of weight (nearly 3 stone) and my
boyfriend has recently commented on the fact that my
breasts have become "saggy." I’m only 21 and
am devastated by this. Is there anything I can do to
cure this? I used to be a 36DD I am now more like a
34/36C. Please help.
Answer:
If you’ve lost weight for no reason then
you should have this assessed by your doctor. In
particular I suggest you have your hormone levels looked
at as declining levels of these can lead to sagging
breasts.
QUESTION 2: Where can I currently
purchase PHYTOSTEROLS in Australia?
Answer: Basikol
is a product, which can be obtained at various pharmacy
outlets.
QUESTION 3: Can you refer me to a clinic
or doctor in Southern California with a program
comparable to yours?
Short of that, does your book give enough
information so that I can get comparable
evaluation/treatment from my doctors?
Answer: You
should be able to find a clinic that offers a similar
program. The
American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine who have a
website at www.worldhealth.net
have a database of all those doctors around the world
practising anti-aging medicine.
The final chapter in‘Eternal Health’ will
provide you with a useful guide as to the kind of tests
you should have.
QUESTION
4: What is the value of blood analysis
for a weight loss program? What things are
measured?
Answer: Blood
tests can measure hormone levels, glucose metabolism and
liver function as well as establish vitamin
deficiencies.
All of these are pertinent to any weight loss
problem.
QUESTION 5: Do
you use Q10 with your patients? What brand and strength are you currently using?
Answer: Coenzyme
Q10 has documented value as a vital antioxidant. There are a number of brands to choose form and you should
look at taking at least 100mg daily.
Some claim that soft-gel caps are a better
delivery system but this is controversial.
QUESTION 6: My
wife, who is now 43, has been taking Oroxine for about 6
years now. I have noticed behavioural changes in
her in that time, particularly with mood swings,
temperament, stubbornness, tiredness, loss of libido,
paranoia and headaches. I have asked her to
consider checking with her doctor about her dosage, but
she flatly refuses (stubbornness!). Is there an
official documented list of side-effects for this drug
that I can refer to?
Answer:
Aside
from thyroid hormone levels other hormones may also be
out of balance and it is a real shame that your wife
does not want this looked at. The symptoms you describe
certainly indicate that your wife should be reviewed by
her doctor. Mims has a list of the side-effects and your
local pharmacist can help you with this.
