QUESTION 1: Can I do your anti-aging program from the USA?
What do you think of HGH as a health promoter?

Answer:  Unfortunately there are a number of in-house tests we do which would make this logistically impossible.  However we do see people from all over the world who are interested in this programme.  My view is that HGH has benefits but needs to be taken appropriately when the intrinsic production has diminished and needs to judiciously administered with constant monitoring especially with regards to the PSA and regular breast examination.  I have a good chapter on this in my book ‘ Eternal Health.’ I also view anti-aging as a holistic endeavour rather than the taking of individual hormones.

QUESTION 2:  My daughter is 33 years-old and has been trying to get pregnant for a while.  She has no periods and after diagnostic tests she has been told that she has polycystic ovaries.  She has just had blood tests done which show low thyroid and low oestrogen levels.  She has developed acne and is very depressed.  She is not overweight. Can you tell me what is going on here, I don't know how to help her and her Doctor doesn't seem to be doing anything for her.  She is getting very depressed about the whole situation.  Many thanks.

Answer:  I would say that her first port-of-call would be an evaluation for insulin resistance as this is a metabolic disorder which is associated with polycystic ovaries, raised testosterone levels and a host of other problems and you don’t necessarily have to be overweight to suffer from this blood sugar imbalance. Having a fasting blood test which measures glucose and insulin and then re-evaluating these parameters at the one hour and two hour mark after a sugar drink will provide you with the answers and if this is a problem then the appropriate, diet, exercise, supplements and if necessary pharmaceutical interventions might yield a lot of benefits.  Let us know how you get on.

QUESTION 3: I was advised to remove amalgam dental fillings. I was wondering what would be the best kind of replacement fillings.

Answer:  Composit resin is the way to go.  I suggest you find a dentist who specialises in this kind of practice.

QUESTION 4:  I've been sick for four years, starting with severe abdominal pain, then jaundice (12 days in hospital & 6 months on prednisolone). The doctors haven't given me any answers on what caused all this. I've had abdominal pain since my liver problem as well as lethargy, pins & needles, constipation & bloated stomach. Now I've been diagnosed with helicobacter pylori. The doctor says he can't treat me as he says I have an allergy to all antibiotics. What can I do?

Answer:  You need to find a physician who can investigate food allergy/intolerance, hormone imbalance and nutrient deficiencies as well as evaluate your liver and digestive function.  Helicobacter pylori can be treated with natural remedies including vitamin C, acidophilus, mastic gum and a combination of herbal medicines including garlic, grapefruit seed extract, thyme and cinnamon to name just a few. However this approach does take longer to eradicate the bacteria and is not as effective as conventional treatment

QUESTION 5: H.D.E., MBBCH., GRAD.DIP.PSYCH. COUNS., F.A.C.N.E.M., F.A.A.AA.M.

I have been trying to find out what all these credentials mean, with no luck. May I please ask you?

Answer: This stands for: Higher Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Chemistry (same as M.D.) Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Fellow of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine.

QUESTION 6:  What are the proprietary names of herbal drugs, which are an alternative to viagra etc. for erectile dysfunction?

Answer: I’m not sure there are any which have exactly the same mode of action are have equal efficacy but you could try those which include tribulus terrestris, arginine and muira puima.  Your local health food store would have a number of these.  The proprietary names are too many to mention.

QUESTION 7:  I am very interested in HGH and DHEA, are they available here in Melbourne, who could I contact?

Answer:  Yes these hormones are available on prescription.  Dr Warwick Greville of Toorak is involved in this kind of practice.
