On this show we interviewed Dr Lindsay Wing: Ear, Nose
and Throat Surgeon who has a special interest in allergy
and environmental medicine. These are the main points
of that interview:
Allergy is usually a chronic ongoing relapsing disease.
It is very rare to be allergic to only one allergen,
usually many are involved.
Patients with nasal allergies usually have other allergic
conditions such as asthma, eczema, irritable bowel syndrome,
fatigue, migraine headaches and depression.
Allergy sufferers are deficient in minerals, vitamins
and antioxidants.
Always suspect food sensitivity when symptoms are worse
in winter and when either asthma, eczema, irritable
bowel syndrome, fatigue, migraine headaches, depression
or fatigue are involved.
It is important to correct mineral, vitamin and antioxidant
deficiencies. Minerals are best taken on an empty stomach
while vitamins can be taken with meals.
